At The Campion School we promote personal wellbeing and development through a comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education programme. Through studying PSHE young people develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live safe, healthy, productive lives and meet their full potential as a person of God.
The curriculum has been updated to include Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education.
RSE will be taught alongside the allocated time for PSHE. The programme of study will be faithful to the Church's vision of human wholeness whilst recognising the contemporary context in which we live today and provide a positive view of human sexuality and dignity of the human person. Topics will include: Healthy relationships; friendships and intimate relationships including sexual health; families; sexual orientation and gender identity; changing feelings; becoming more independent; keeping safe and consent.
Health Education will enable pupils to learn how to recognise issues in themselves and others, and to seek support as early as possible when issues arise. Topics will include; mental wellbeing; internet safety and harms; physical health and fitness; healthy eating; drugs, alcohol and tobacco; health and prevention; basic first aid; changing adolescent body; developing self-esteem and confidence.
