Alumni

Welcome fellow alumni of The Campion School. When students arrive in year 7 and 12, they are told that they are now part of a special kinship.  Whether you are based locally here in Hornchurch and the surrounding areas or, like many of our community, spread over the world, if you came to Campion you will always be a Campionite.

We have a proud tradition of serving others and our alumni are proud to remain part of the Campion Community.  In this part of our website, we will be posting about school life and the impact that our alumni are having in their own communities now.  We would be delighted to hear from all of you who wish to share of your current successes and the influence that The Campion School had on you.  We benefit from significant support from our Campion Community and there are different ways that you can assist for example our careers day in the summer of each year.  If you believe that you have experience in the workplace, in further Education and training or experience in any aspect of school life please complete this link telling us a bit about yourself and what you are able to give back.

How can you support the school?

Our current school students are on a journey that you have experienced whether it be for 2, 5 or 7 years here at school.  We are asking you what you can contribute back to our community to positively influence life for our young people today.

Rugby Education Programme

The Campion School has a proud rugby tradition having been to two national finals and winning one in 2001.  The school’s rugby history dates back to John Davies who many old boys will fondly remember.  He drove the school to greater and greater success in the 1970s and 1980s laying the foundation for thousands of boys to experience rugby here at Campion.  Since John’s time the school has many great alumni that have gone on to be professional rugby players and sent hundreds of students on life-changing tours.

These experiences create a lifelong love of rugby but also create a unique connection, for those that played, to the school.  training, facilities, equipment and other additional cost a significant amount per year. For example, coach transport alone costs over £20,000 per season, but we want to compete at the very highest level and aim to develop each student to their maximum potential. Training equipment, transport, team teas, competition fees, playing kit etc, all add up, but we want to offer the best sporting opportunity for all.

Over 400 students take part in the rugby programme (on average) on a weekly basis, and an astounding number of students take part in the extra-curricular programme as a whole.  All of these costs add up and we are working hard to maintain our excellent standards, but we do need help.  We ask that, if you could, please contribute to the Rugby Education Programme here at school.  Please click on this link to either contribute to the programme monthly or a one-off payment.  Please either set up a standing order with your bank which can now be done easily on line or via a smartphone.  The Account name for donations is The Campion School, Sort code is 30-14-24 and the account number is 00373928.  Please make your reference as rugby

Music Programme

Music is also still flourishing here at school.  Our Schola Cantorum have a well-deserved and strong reputation.  Students can be part of the year 7 choir and develop a deeper understanding of music but also contribute to the full life of the school at school events.

Our music programme draws on the support of experts within our community and this also has an extensive cost.  If you have benefited from our music department previously and would like to contribute back to the school, please contact us on contact@thecampionschool.org.uk.  If you wish to contribute to the cost of the programme that we have which includes concerts, appearances at the Royal Albert Hall, Claridge's and other prestigious venues and can afford a monthly or one-off contribution please either set up a standing order with your bank which can now be done easily on line or via a smartphone.  The Account name for donations is The Campion School, Sort code is 30-14-24 and the account number is 00373928.  Please make your reference as Music

The Jubilee Building Fund

Our Jubilee Building Fund started in 1987 after 25 years of the school.  It successfully raised money for the building of the sports hall that students have enjoyed the use of since 1991.  The building has been expanded on since but needs further renovation during the course of this year including a new floor, a new (eco-friendly) heating system, new cricket nets and decorating with appropriate displays.  This fund benefits already from the continued support of alumni and other friends of The Campion School.  If you would like to contribute towards the ongoing costs of the Jubilee Sports Hall please  either set up a standing order with your bank which can now be done easily on line or via a smartphone.  The Account name for donations is Campion School Jubilee Building Fund, Sort code is 30-14-24 and the account number is 00374029
