Teacher Training

The Campion School has an established history of initial teacher training. We work with aspiring teachers to train to deliver high-quality education and prepare for successful careers in the education industry.

One of the key strengths of our training offer is the presence of qualified instructional coaches in most departments. These teachers are not only experts in the field of education, but also in providing continuous feedback to help novice teachers succeed. They serve as mentors to trainees, providing personalised support and guidance throughout the placement in our school.

In addition to this, trainees will also be assigned a professional mentor who will oversee their entire training. This mentor will provide guidance and support on all aspects of the course, ensuring that trainees have the resources and help they need.

Our trainees gain hands-on experience in a real classroom setting. Practical experience is an important part of the training process, as it allows students to apply what they have learned in a real-world setting and develop their skills as a teacher. They also participate in our continual professional development programme; helping them build their CV for when they come to apply for their first teaching post.

In addition to staying up-to-date on current best practices in education, we maintain a close partnership with Havering Teacher Training Partnership, our primary provider. Many of our previous trainees have gone on to have rewarding careers as teachers, both in the London Borough of Havering and beyond. Some have been hired by our school and have gone on to gain leadership roles and whole-school responsibility.

If you're interested in training to teach, we encourage you to visit Havering Teacher Training Partnership and contact them for further information on applying.

If you are coming to The Campion School for one of your placements, we are looking forward to helping you achieve your goals and succeed in this very rewarding profession.
