On Friday 11th October 2024, we held our annual Blue Day, a meaningful event dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT), a charity that deeply resonates with our school community. In memory of Jack Chester and Mohammed Noor, who benefited from TCT's support and tragically lost their battles with cancer, this day highlights the importance of supporting young people battling this illness.
The day began with a sea of blue, as students and staff came together, wearing blue clothing. An array of delicious blue cakes, baked by our students and families, was donated. The sense of unity in the commitment to raising awareness was empowering, as everyone understood the significance of our collective efforts to provide treatment and care for young people facing cancer.
The bake sale raised just under £500, and students and staff raised over £1,100 by wearing an item of blue.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who participated in Blue Day through baking, donating, or wearing blue. Your support serves as a testament to the spirit and virtues we uphold in our school community. By promoting awareness of TCT's work and raising a substantial amount, we have been able to directly contribute to improving the lives of young individuals, ensuring they receive the care and support they need during such challenging times.
