Last month, nearly 500 students at the Campion School participated in the annual Bebras UK challenge; an international computational thinking challenge. Over 3 million students participate world-wide each year in various age categories. All students who participated have won house points, with extra points being awarded to the houses with students who finished first, second and third in their categories. Across the school, Garnet produced 3 category winners, but Southwell were the overall highest scorers with some excellent scores, coupled with high participation.
The highest being Luke V in Year 7 with an impressive score of 209, with Alexander C and Cooper R, both of Year 8, close behind with a score of 204. 18 of our students also achieved a gold award for high achievement in the challenge.
The winners for each of our categories were:
Juniors (10-12 years): Luke V (7 Southwell)
Inters (12-14 years): Alexander C (8 Garnet) and Cooper R (8 Fisher)
Seniors (14-16 years): Jacob C (11 Garnet)
Elite (16-18 years): Yakoub I (12 Garnet)
Well done to all of those who took part in the challenge.
