At The Campion School, we are proud to offer the chance to do Work Experience to our Y10 and Y12 students. Work experience is intended to encourage our students to think about their own career choices. This is a great opportunity for students to consider carefully the industry that most interests them and seek Work Experience that will support them in making informed choices, enhance their personal statements/CVs and learn important skills for the workplace.
The date for the one day Y10 Work Experience is: Wednesday 25th June 2025
The date for the four day Y12 Work Experience is: Monday 7th - Thursday 10th July 2025
Careers Day for Y12 will be Friday 11th July. All students will be expected back in school that day to attend.
Suggested areas of interest, based on the prior interests of our students and what is available in the local labour market, are: Education; Finance & Banking; Healthcare and Therapy; Construction & Engineering; Real Estate & Property; Technology & IT; Legal & Accounting; Logistics & Supply Chain; Retail & Customer Service.
Local employers include Ford, Queens Hospital, Local Authority and Education.
We will be using Unifrog (www.unifrog.org) to manage the administration of the work experience programme, for example collecting information from the employer about their Risk Assessment and Health & Safety Policy, as well as getting agreement from you for the placement to go ahead.
The process
Any Y10 student who would like to complete a week-long Work Experience can ask their parent to put the request in writing to the Headteacher via the ParentPortal, for the dates of Monday 23rd – Friday 27th June. The Headteacher will then assess the safety and utility of the proposal before writing to you with a final decision.
Please encourage your daughter/son to start the process of looking for a suitable placement and adding the placement details onto Unifrog. Our current Y11 and Y13 students greatly benefited from their Work Experience placements last year. We hope to repeat this success this year.
